VL Energy, a leader in predictive emissions monitoring systems (PEMS), seeks an action-oriented Business Development and Operations Analyst to drive customer engagement, funding acquisition, and operational execution. This role blends technical expertise with business development, requiring a candidate who can bridge engineering, sales, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with experience in emissions monitoring, environmental compliance, or industrial process technology.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Technical Sales Support
- Act as a technical liaison between clients and VL Energy’s engineering teams, translating customer needs into technical solutions.
- Educate potential customers on predictive emissions monitoring systems (PEMS), explaining regulatory compliance benefits and operational efficiency improvements.
- Support the sales process with technical demonstrations, customer training, and pre-sales engineering support.
- Develop and implement customer relationship management (CRM) strategies, ensuring structured follow-up and engagement cadences to build long-term partnerships.
- Assist in creating customer-facing economic use cases and models, demonstrating ROI, cost savings, and regulatory compliance benefits of VL Energy’s solutions.
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Develop a deep understanding of emissions monitoring regulations, industry standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g., AER, AEP, EPA, Federal regulations, and US regulations).
- Interpret and communicate emissions data, process instrumentation insights, and predictive analytics to customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends in clean technology, industrial emissions reduction, and carbon markets, ensuring VL Energy remains ahead of the curve.
Funding & Business Development
- Lead funding application development for clean technology projects, securing grants and financial incentives for VL Energy and its clients.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities with industrial, Oil & Gas, and manufacturing clients, aligning solutions with their ESG and compliance goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create customized proposals, business cases, and financial justifications for adopting VL Energy’s predictive emissions monitoring technology.
Marketing & Content Development
- Design and produce visually compelling promotional materials using Canva, PowerPoint, and other digital tools to drive visibility in the energy sector.
- Work with marketing teams to create technical whitepapers, case studies, and presentations that highlight the impact of VL Energy’s solutions.
- Support the development of customer-facing educational materials, including webinars, reports, and training modules.
Operational Coordination & Project Management
- Oversee and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and delivery of high-quality results.
- Collaborate with engineering, product development, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of deployments and customer integrations.
- Optimize internal workflows and CRM systems to enhance customer tracking, sales performance, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Technical & Industry Expertise
- 2-5 years of experience in the energy sector, emissions monitoring, process/instrumentation engineering, environmental compliance, or clean technology.
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical), Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field with a focus on sustainability or industrial technology.
- Strong understanding of industrial emissions monitoring, predictive analytics, process instrumentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, interpret emissions data, and develop technical business cases.
Business & Customer-Facing Skills
- Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) strategies, including structured follow-up and engagement techniques.
- Proven ability to develop economic models and use cases, demonstrating cost savings and value propositions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical details into actionable insights for customers.
Sales & Funding Expertise
- Experience in managing funding applications for clean technology and industrial projects.
- Understanding of carbon markets, ESG reporting, and government incentive programs for emissions reduction technologies.
- Ability to drive sales activities, from initial lead generation to deal closure, with a focus on actionable results.
