On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a GIS Data Analyst for a 12-month contract, with possible extension. This is a primarily remote position, working from Edmonton, Alberta.
Project Context:
The successful candidate will support the current Strategy and related programs by analyzing and reporting on program and project information, network provider coverage, and supporting data using advanced GIS expertise. This role is vital in supporting broadband initiatives with significant public and governmental visibility and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions following the geospatial data standards.
- Integrate and analyze disparate geospatial datasets and features.
- Extract, process, and interpret geographic data using GIS tools and scripting languages.
- Develop GIS data integration and conversion workflows.
- Perform advanced spatial analysis and geostatistical modeling.
- Automate GIS workflows to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Create maps, raster analysis models, and interactive web applications for data dissemination.
- Produce data visualizations to support business decisions and reporting.
- Conduct feasibility studies and produce reports on broadband access and adoption.
- Develop and maintain enterprise geodatabases and ensure data integrity.
- Manage geodatabase security and establish data maintenance workflows.
- Develop map, geoprocessing, image, and geocode services.
- Other duties as required.
Must-Have Skills and Experience:
- bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study.
- direct, hands-on experience and proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro and FME (8 years).

- direct, hands-on experience designing and producing maps that visually represent data (5 years).
- direct, hands-on experience developing exploratory analysis by transforming raw data (5 years).
- direct, hands-on experience in creating and managing geospatial datasets and performing geostatistical analysis (8 years).
- direct, hands-on experience using statistical techniques to analyze geographic data (5 years).
- direct, hands-on experience with spatial data extraction, transformation and loading (5 years).
