Reporting to the SVP Global Brands and Corporate Affairs, the Marketing Lead, Global Brands will play a pivotal role in driving growth for Organigram in emerging international markets, specifically with the intention of creating strong, lasting global flagship brands for the Company, with a focus on IP that provides a strong competitive advantage. In the role, the Marketing Lead, Global Brands will be responsible for executing Organigramās go-to-market strategies internationally, focusing on executing marketing and sales strategies with excellence and acting as a key partner for the commercial needs of our growing international business. The incumbent will work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute international brand, sales, product and marketing plans.
Job Duties
1. Brand Strategy & Brand Management
- Use data-driven insights to guide strategy development for Organigramās global brand strategy in Europe, Australia and the USA focusing on consistent execution across markets.
- Act as the brand ambassador, ensuring the consistent execution of the brand strategy, with the intention of creating strong, long lasting global flagship brands.
- Lead the development of all international marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency in brand messaging across packaging, marketing materials, and digital assets including website, social media and advertising where permitted
- Work with Director of International Regulatory to ensure regulatory compliance in all product and marketing activities
2. Insights / Market Research
- Source and research cannabis markets outside of Canada, and provide insights and recommendations that will inform brand, pricing and product strategy in new markets.
- Keep an active āpulseā on the market developments ā pricing, products, brands, ensuring that our knowledge base is up to date.
3. Innovation & Product Development
- Serve as a key voice in the development of the product development pipeline and roadmap for products in international markets.
- Provide market insights, competitive analysis, and trend reports to support new product development.
- Lead product launches, ensuring proper go-to-market execution with the marketing and sales team.
4. Performance Tracking, Budget Management & Reporting
- Measure and report on brand performance, trade execution, and consumer engagement KPIs
- Develop and manage marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation across various marketing initiatives as well as effective spend management
- Prepare quarterly reports outlining progress, challenges, and opportunities.
5. Project Management
- Working closely with the Project Manager, execute all aspects of the international brand/product launches from product development to packaging selection and design, to marketing executions.
6. Relationship / Sales
- Maintain close relationship with international customers, supporting marketing and sales needs at a local level.
Work closely with VP International Business Development on forecasting and the execution of local marketing and sales plans to support customers and drive sales.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of direct work experience in a fast-moving consumer goods marketing, brand management position, or account management agency role
- A self- starter, able to work autonomously, driving momentum on multiple projects and proactively planning ahead.
- Ability to operate in an environment with limited data and a high degree of complexity and ambiguity
- Highly organised with prioritisation skills.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication to convey brand messaging effectively.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve brand goals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
