ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Primary contact for the coordination, preparation and delivery of client’s payroll reports, including the preparation of wage request reports; uploading and maintaining information in systems; calculation of gross-ups; final audit of payroll reports and timely delivery of reports to clients.
  • Utilize understanding of payroll, relocation and accounting to impute relocation expenses into income timely and correctly reducing the risk of payroll errors, and the issuance of any Form W2-Cs.
  • Prepare and deliver all client Global Mobility payroll reports based on the approved deliverables schedule.
  • Research and verify state and local rates, as needed
  • Prepare ad-hoc client or tax provider reports as requested
  • Assist Manager in new client implementation, document clients’ gross-up requirements, processes, and reporting schedules, and assist in testing of tax gross-up data exchange files
  • Accurate and timely creation and update of expat compensation worksheet calculations, based on client specific policies and delivery calendars
  • Periodically monitoring the changes in COLA/Hardship data tables in compliance with policies
  • Reconciliation of clients’ global payroll to ensure instructions were processed as directed
  • Report global relocation and expat compensation income to various stakeholders, including local payroll and tax providers based on client-specific requirements
  • Prepare journal entries to reclassify relocation expenses for terminated customers’ repayment of relocation benefits
  • Perform quality control audits of Relocation Payroll Tax Analysts’ work to meet SOC requirements and client specifications
  • Investigate & identify variances through reconciliation process and alert internal partners for timely resolution.
  • Escalate complex or problematic situations to management for timely resolution.
  • Additional assignments, activities, and/or projects as requested by the Manager or Altair Management.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience, skills, training, and education required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years or more of experience within the relocation industry, in a consulting firm, or multinational company in an accounting or payroll position, with exposure to tax assistance processing
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of domestic and international relocation expenses, relocation tax laws and regulations
  • Expertise in using multiple software packages, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and one or more current accounting software packages.
  • Intermediate MS Excel experience to utilize for audit purposes, including formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, analyze, and apply policy rules and regulations
  • Ability to effectively communicate confidential and sensitive information to team members, clients, customers, and customers at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, build client trust through relationship management, and manage to deadlines
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to support Altair’s regional offices, and participate in conference calls with clients in different time zones

The anticipated salary range for this position is $62,000 to $70,000. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s skills, experience and other qualifications as well as the candidate’s location of residence.

WORK/PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Office setting and/or home office work environment. Team member must be able to operate standard office equipment. Team member spends substantial amount of time working on the computer, on the phone speaking with customers and working under deadlines.
